Hey everyone,

Looking to do some new seats in my pro tour 70 Camaro. Looking for seat options (no tmi).

Came across Braum and Corbeau seats as they have a good selection of nice looking seats and car specific brackets as well which is nice. I was going to do some c7 z06 seats but don’t want to screw around with having to make custom brackets.

Anyone use these seats? Review of them?

Thanks

Why no TMI?

Hey everyone,
car specific brackets---don’t want to make custom brackets.

nearly every seat choice will need brackets made.

so what is the real question you are asking here?

what high quality seats for your vehicle is out there?

Or why cant you make seat brackets?

Easiest, and best, is to take your factory seats to a good upholstery shop and have them make you want you want.

TMI stuff just looks too dated.

Corbeau has car specific brackets so could work. Just looking for peoples input on the seats.

I have Corbeau CR1s in a 68 Camaro, with the specific slider brackets. I’m pretty happy with the setup.

They definitely sit higher compared to stock buckets. I like the visibility of sitting high, instead of just peeking over the dash. But it puts me kinda close to the roof/ roll bar with a helmet on. I may eventually mod the floor to drop the seats some. If you’re 6’ or more then consider taking out the floor support.

I took them to an upholsterer and tried to superimpose the Deluxe pettern onto the new form. Turned out pretty cool. 213170

Corbeau LG1 (W) in my 1971 6.1 HemiDuster. These are a great compromise seat that is comfortable and bolstered just enough for autocross

I've had Corbeau A4 Wide/Suede in my Cutlass for about 10 years or so. They are mounted on Planted bracket which have been modified a bit to get them as low as possible, I'm 6'5".

I've done 10+ hour road trips without issue. My only complain is the thigh bolsters can dig in a bit, but I was able to spread them apart a bit and that helped.

That said, I am considering swapping them for the new Sparco GT seats.

I checked out some corbeaus and wasn’t too impressed. They look good but just didn’t feel right. Decided to just pony up for some recaros

Maybe not for you but in my 68 C10 project I used 2012 VW GTI cloth seats. Were gray but I used black fabric paint to turn them black. IIRC I paid $350 for the pair.
Just looked at car-part.com. 2019 GTI leather seats. Less than $200 per seat.
Pic of my GTI seats.

Braum looks awesome, I think that will be my next seat. I currently have Recaro's, they are OK.

Corbeau LG1 Wide 79 TATA bolt in, brackets align perfectly. They feel great flying around corners.

The big difference I am seeing between Corbeau and Braum is Corbeau tends to offer different material options not just colors like Braum.
