3rd member / gears help

Hey guys, anyone running the speedmaster 3rd member? Seem to be priced pretty good and rated for 1000hp?

Anyway, LSA mild cam, t56 close ratio trans, tires will be 325/30/19 maybe maybe 345/25/20. Street car, will see the highway… Given the gobs of low end torque, 3.73s or lower?

After dealing with my 9” gear noise issues, I’d be buying a third member from Gear FX or Currie, or someone else who has a dyno to test it before shipping it to me. If you’re looking to keep costs low, check out Quick Performance. I bought my last third member from them, and the customer service was great. Their prices are also well below the competition. I’d go with them before Speedmaster.

Only you can decide what you want for gearing. Play with the calculators and see what you prefer. I have 3.89s with a close ratio Magnum, and I’d prefer less freeway cruise rpm, but the low speed driveability is much better with my cam than the 3.50 gears I had before. There’s almost always a trade off when it.comes to gearing.
