I have found this info all over the board when I do a search, but I still dont have a solid answer on this!
What is the correct Master Cylinder bore size for my system?
I have C4 12" PBR Front Brakes
and
LT1 (94 Z28) PBR Rear Brakes
I want manual brakes - I just need MC bore size (7/8", 15/16" or 1")??
My car is a '69 Camaro (was Manual Drum/Drum).
I found the 68-74 Vette Manual MC to be 1". Where do I find an old school MC with 7/8"" bore?
Please help,
Brandon

I've asked the same thing and all I get back is to put hydroboost in it.

You probably dont want 1" thats what most are running with a booster. Definetly 15/16 or 7/8 its really just how much pedal do you want?
They have one on www.hotrodheaven.com for around 75 bucks.
Look on the garage sale tab they have it on sale for 40 bucks.

I used one out of like a '77 Malubi, bore size was 15/16", I think. I'd have to double check. Search camaros.com for more info.

Try these guys, the prices are good, you will have to specify what you want.

I used the 1" with vac booster for 44mm fronts LS1 caliper. What are the piston sizes for the front c4 caliper? If memory serves the smaller the piston the higher the pressure and less volume.
I am sure they are smaller so after thinking about it 7/8 might be the ticket. Although I remember some stating that in manual setup the pedal can become super hard.
Torker has some good info in relation to MC sizes. SS

Markm66,
How is that M/C working for you. Is pedal hard or long travel?

I gave up trying to get good pedal performance/feel in a C4 manual mode and went to hydroboost. Even with very aggressive Hawk pads, the effort was unacceptable. This was with a 15/16" MC. I think Mean69 did alot of experimentation too trying to get acceptable manual performance. A search should find it (about 1-2 years ago I think).

I agree with Mark.
If you are set on a manual system, I suggest finding a 7/8" bore MC and a set of aggressive pads. There's a reason that no OEM ever offered the PBR caliper in a non-boosted/manual mode.

Maybe I'm easy to please. But I think it's exactly how it should be. I'm very satisfied. I haven't tried to look all 4 up, but it brakes very well, and I don't see why they wouldn't.
I'm using stock pads that came with the rebuilt cardone calipers.
