Hi been on this forum for a while never posted just liked to look at the project updates. Well I thought I would give it a go on posting on my newest project. Most of my projects have both a Hotrod feel with a good amount of pro touring. I bought this 65 out of Idaho on a Facebook ad a couple of months ago sight unseen and to my surprise it was pretty much in better condition that I thought.210063210060210061210058210062210059

Sweet! Good to have another C2 on this forum where it's socially acceptable to modify your Corvette :twothumbs....looking forward to the updates!
Just as an aside, I dont know if its just me, but the photos you posted are pretty tiny.

Very nice. What are your plans for the car? Excited to see another C2 project on here along with Flynavy. I actually followed Flynavy over here from Corvette Forum after he stopped posting there. Love seeing how guys build these cars for performance as opposed to the "all numbers matching" crowd. (boring) I have a '67 coupe that I'm itching to build, my dad bought it in 1979 and I've been around the car since I was 3 years old. Looking forward to seeing what you do to your car, looks like you got a nice one.

Sorry about the pictures still learning. I already started the tear down and reassembly.
The plan: The complete Vansteel catalog for suspension and brakes. Smedding Performance 416 LS 600HP in the process of being built. TKX 5 speed. Dakota Digital Dash.

I then wire wheeled the frame zero rust which was awesome. Did the transmission mount cut out mod. Primed and painted the frame.

67Rox, I have been a member for a little while here, but have spent most of my time on Corvette Forum, regardless of their negative "vibe" on serious modifications or restomods. I've only really been a passive viewer over here. FlyNavy has really done a lot to his car in keeping a factory appearance yet a modified theme, so his experience might be a lot of help to you. I don't have a specific thread on this forum (but probably should have), but I have a highly modified '67 with custom SRIII frame and LS3. If you've not put an LS in one of these before, I have some experience. I did all the stuff in my garage, like it seems you are doing. I bet you were excited to have a frame in that great a condition. Also looks like you are moving right along. Please keep us updated and the second set of picture posting looks great too. Here's a picture of my car, its currently evolving out of paint "fix". I look forward to seeing your progress.

vjjack, we need a build thread! I think this is the first I've actually seen of your car. It looks great. That LS install is very well done, and the car as a whole is super clean!

67Rox,
Looking great. What are you going to do for a rear-end?

Vansteel components. I had the diff rebuilt to HD specs with 30 spline axles and pinion, Eaton posi 4:11 gears.

Thats cool....now that I'm going to the 5 speed, I kinda wish I had gone 4:11s instead of 3:73s.....we'll see after I get a few miles on it.

It will be very close in feel. My 70 Chevelle has 3:70’s and with the low in 1st in the TKX it pulls hard.

yea....thats kind of what sold me on the TKX. With the TKX first gear and 3.73 rear it's mathematically equivalent to the stock Muncie with a 4.88 rear so it should get up and go.

I was running those too before I swapped to the Ride Tech rear kit. Van Steel makes nice stuff. Just curious, is this thread up to date with your current progress on the car, or are you father ahead on the car and just updating the thread?

At first with the frame prep but after that everything is present just installed the billet plates this morning. Painting the rear diff today and waiting on the Shark Bite rear Aluminum cover. Also waiting on the bump steer kit from Vansteel so I can finish with the steering assembly and go on to the power steering install etc.
