Hey Fellas -

Currently have the below.

TCI race tranny , 3 speed,3500 stall
Reverse shift
TCI thunder stick Outlaw shifter
Line lock
Trans brake

matted to

468 blown big block 1098 Hp
Crowler crank
World block and heads
Edelbrock aluminum water pump
Lunati rods n valves
671 Weiand blower
2 x Holley carbs 4150 hp race series

I am curious what other transmissions exist where I could get into a 4th or 5th gear. This is how the car came and am currently shifting gear to gear. Do I have options that allow me to just slide it into 'drive or overdrive' and go?

Thanks in advance.

Would a gear vendors overdrive be an option?

I'll take a peak around. Thank you. Bunch of this is going to be new to me. It is interesting acquiring a car from a previous owner. I have a nice list of some things but not all things.

Car was originally built for drag racing but never got to the track.

Isn't that a monster of a trans.

Thank you!

Should be killer. The Gear Vendors solves your overdrive problem but it would not solve you manual valve body problem at all. The real beauty of an electronically controlled transmission is how easy it is to change shift point to suit you, extra bonus points for being able to lock up the loose converter to keep heat (and rpms) down while cruising.

Interesting. I hadn’t thought of that.

Haven’t put many miles on it yet but having the stall at 3500 is interesting for in town day driving.

Should be fun to try and dial this in over the next 6 months. Going to start a few more threads as I need to replace the fuel cell as well in the immediate future.

Appreciate you chiming in! I’ll reach out to the trans shop tomorrow!
