69 Firebird - Lowered Ridetech springs, 1/2" tall ball joints - Guldstrand mod?

I'm putting some 2" lowered variable rate ridetech springs on to replace my Hotchkis lowered (2"?) and went ahead and decided to replace the upper ball joints with the 1/2" tall proforged ones. I got one of the new springs in and couldn't get the hooks out from the compression tool, so now I'm back to square one.

Since things are on pause for a bit, I decided to go ahead and replace the lower ball joints as well, so now I'm thinking about doing the Guldstrand mod since i have everything apart.

With the stock a-arms and 1/2" tall proforged ball joints, can / should I go ahead and do this or are there other mods that I will have to do in order to make it work?

With the tall ball joints, I would hesitate on doing the Guldstrand mod. The combination of the two could put the ball joint in a bind and try to break them off. The taller ball joint is essentially doing what the mod does, without having to do the mod.

Still working on it...progress has been slow since I've been traveling. I hope to have it on the road in a month or so...will post pics when I do.
