Opinions on a Suspension Upgrade to my 68 BB Camaro

Hello all, I think this is my first technical posting. I am looking for opinions of which may be the right road to go down to upgrade the suspension on my driver 68. I bought a set of street QA1 CA's with coil overs for the front (still in boxes) so if I had to change. In the near future I am going to go 9" rear on probably a ridetech 4 link rear suspension and thinking QA1 coil overs to keep everything the same.

My question is with the QR steering box and the stet control arms be enough with adjustable coil overs to tighten up the steering control? The PS gets sketchy at higher speeds which I understand is common with stock control arms.
I do want to maintain a 2" front drop and 3" rear (car came with rear blocks and 2" springs in front). QA1 makes a pro touring upper CA with a 1" longer ball joint, but Im not sure if that will mess up the geometry to where I bump steer issues or if that puts the tie rod ends too close to tire (running 15x7 with 225/60-15 with disc brakes.

I like the old school look, but the thought crossed my mind if I go this route I may have to go to 17 or 18" wheels. Having said all this
Is the set up I mention decent to go with, or will be opening a big can of worms? Thanks. Apologize if this sounds like a dumb question.

Most coilovers require aftermarket control arms, I'd call the manufacturer and ask/tell them what your plans are for the car, or call suspension geek who has vast experience with various suspension combinations.

ridetech street grip kit is a great kit for a stock type upgrade

Thanks. I will contact ridetech. What I found so far with QA1 is they dont make their own 4 link, but use their C/O's with others which is fine but I dont want to *******ize my system if it can be helped. I checked out the street grip kit, this is basically have right now in CPP brand and it rides like a rigid frame.

I think it’s fair to say the ridetech streetgrip with their quality shocks and composite rear springs will ride far better than anything CPP cobbles together. I don’t know the CPP kit but I would guess their lower quality shocks and heavy steel leafs are not going to offer a good ride quality. That won’t help with using your QA1 fronts, but I would definitely consider it for a lower-budget driver application.

Thanks Jeff, The car came with a bunch of CPP stuff and I do not like any of it, even their website annoys the heck out of me. I replaced the rear shocks with single adjustable QA1 shocks and that made a huge difference, I may just look into the composite springs. The 9" idea with 4 link is very pricey these days of high inflation prices.

I’d encourage you to select a ridetech suspension package & use as many of their parts as possible. They’ve worked very hard at using friction reducing Delrin & at all pivot points. This enables a smooth ride. Even their sway bar mounts are Delrin & it does matter! Polyurethane is not as good. If you go four link, the QA1 shocks may not have the correct length, or the same eye width. This can cause mounting problems. Coil overs vary in many dimensions.
67 Camaro RS that will be faster than anything Mary owns.
