Won't these work on a 69 Camaro?

I thought I had heard of people running these before.

The size looks ok for stock suspension/body but unsure about b/s.

Any ideas on threse?

A 38mm offset will result in a backspace of 5.5inch on the 8" rim and 6.5 on the 9", will the work or will you have fouling issues on suspension or internal arches?

To fit the 8" rim on the front you need 4.75" backspacing and the rear would have to be 5" backspacing with a 9" wheel.

Can that be adjusted with shims or I guess you can not reduce b/s with shims?

BMW wheels are 120 MM bolt pattern, I believe your pattern should be the same as my truck, being 120.65 (or 5 x4.75")

THAT LITTLE BIT DOES MATTER!

I would not run them, unless you planned on an adapter. Which, I don't know if you could even get an adapter to adapt from 120 to 120.65

I have seen guys with s-10's run them and the studs eventually ovaled out the holes because the lugs don't seat properly.

I would not run the 120MM bmw wheels.

there are members here that have done it (Martin71) so long as the center hub ring in the wheel is right you shouldnt have a problem. The hub problem on the s-10 is likely due to a smaller hub mounting ring on the truck, and the studs supporting the weight of the truck. (just a guess) But for the most part, as long as you arent driving real hard it should be fine.

i actually have those exact rims on my 01 SS (see link below) i can say they are awesome wheels but the plating sucks ALOT!!! very thin and only on the outside, the rear fades badly and no plating on the tire area. they should fit but the front hubs on the rotors will give you a problem. I guess they would be the best bang for the buck but if you wash them with anything other than 100% cotton they will scratch. soap and water only!

The guys with S10's that have oblong mounting holes had nothing to do with the bolt pattern difference. Do you have any idea how small .65mm is? Now spread that microscopic amount over 5 separate bolt holes over an inch apart. I guarantee the aftermarket wheel builders do not all follow exacting tolerances that tight.



FYI, .65mm is equal to .0255". My dial calipers do not even guarantee accuracy that tight.

thanks denny. I was going to go there but didnt want to do the math. It's all about the hub mating ring.

Tony is right....center ring is important.

0.65mm is over the complete boltcircle (diameter) and per bolt devide it by 2 since it is radius.... so 0.375mm (.0255" /2= 0.0125" and a bit)

and I do run it hard......


You need to look for 5 or 7 series wheels since the 3 series have too much backspacing. Still check BS for each individual wheel since BMW have an ET that you have to convert to BS...

(also with wheels with a fat lip you will probably not be able to fit a center cap since the axle pokes through the center of the wheel, I had that with my BBS wheels....see my page for details/pics/sizes)

e.g. 18*8et38...wheel is not 8 but probably close to 9 (cause wheel size given is tire bed size, wheel is actually 1" wider)

so devide 9" by 2 and have the center of the wheel (ie 0mm ET/offset)
with 0mm offset BS=4.5", now add the 38mm (or 1,5") and voila... a 6" BS appears!!!

Would it be a 8.5" rim with the same ET it would be BS 6.25"
