one is a 200 tread wear, the other mid 300s.
2 totally different tires.
Depends on use.

These tires are really not even direct competitors.
The BFG Rival S 1.5 is an "extreme performance summer" tire with 200 treadwear - i.e. designed for autocross/track competition.
The Continental ExtremeContact Sport is a "max performance summer" tire with 340 treadwear - i.e. designed for high performance street cars with some occasional track use (think Porsches, M3's, Vettes, etc).
The BFG's should be faster in competition, but the Continentals will last longer, be quieter, be better in the rain, ride better, and pickup/fling less rocks into your paint. For a street only car the Continentals are a better fit. You'd have to be doing some super illegal things to use the couple percent extra grip a 200TW tire offers on the street.

If your going for more street tire like extreme contact, check out cooper RS3-S. They have great reviews and are cheaper than the extreme contacts. I bought them for my project, but haven’t really driven it more than just up and down the street.

How many members here have driven on both in order to ensure that the poll gets objective data? Without any context, the poll winner may not be the right choice for you.
That aside, the answer has been covered. Street car - Conti
Race car - Something else......I don't even recommend the BFGs anymore for that. People get so hung up on a size and miss the fact that the Nankang, Yokohama, and Falken in 315 are all faster than the Rival in 335.

I think he means these, which I don't think I have seen in the wild yet.

Rival fandom seems to be fading with the new 660s and yokos, among others.
