Has anyone here run an ET(extra thread) style lug nut with an aftermarket wheel, Forgeline, Rushforth, etc? Or are they not necessary as long as the studs are long enough? 183212

Their purpose was to get more thread engagement with a thick centered wheel.
Not necessary unless your studs are too short, then it is still recommended to use the correct length stud.
The company ET started this when they came out with a universal wheel that had replaceable offset washers in the wheel to fit different bolt patterns.
4-3/4" BC wheels had centered washers & these worked to give you a 4-1/4" or 5" BC.

Due to the extra thickness of the wheel plus washer, the extended lug was used & became popular for use with aftermarket wheels & spacers.

Thanks... I'll go with standard lug nuts then as my studs are long enough.
