View Full Version : center dash vent
I'm installing a VA AC system in a non-air 69 camaro, a little confused about the center dash vent.
The opening in the metal dash is much larger than the vent assembly, there is no way of attaching it. For those of you that have done this, does the vent attach to the metal dash or to the dash pad?

Have you called Vintage Air?

The center vent for a non air car attaches to the dash pad.
When I do a non air car, I buy an air conditioning dash pad and use the factory style center vent.

x2.
That VA vent screwed into the dash pad doesn’t usually look too good...

Yep, me too. I've got a '68 and I too used the factory vent. I think your VA system may have come with a adapter to use the factory one. I'd call Vintage and see what they have to offer if you can't make your existing factory equipment work.

Thanks. I'll be putting one in mine next year, so interested in hearing the results.
