I have a new LS3 495 hp crate motor. I was hoping to bump the power on it N/A without having to got into the bottom end. If I have to go there I am going 416.
Two questions...
what is the max I can get to N/A with stock piston (no fly cut)
Any proven combos out there.. that I can review.. ? (texas speed for example)

A cam, valve springs, and pushrods can get you a nice boost in power. I have a buddy with a stock LS3 with a BTR Stage 2 rectangular port cam. It's installed in a 66 Fairlane that is over 3900 pounds, race weight. His best pass was a 11.65 @ I believe 113mph. That's easily over 500HP at the crank and very streetable.

TSP Stage 2 N/A LS3 229/244, .629/.615, 111 LSA Camshaft kit. Dual valve springs, pushrods, trunion upgrade. Runs real hard and 7000rpms if need be. I also kept everything the same and added a heartbeat supercharger on it putting 8-9psi

To give you a idea. Your 495 hotcam will put 425rwhp done and loses steam above 5500 rpms. The tsp cam that I have puts another 40-50rwhp and can rev a lot higher and all around more powerful the entire rpm band.

Excellent, thank you.. wonder what a nice cam like that and cnc porting of stock heads or a set of AFR's might do..

I wouldn’t replace the heads. Not worth pulling the engine apart that far. If I did that I would just sell my ls3 and build a forged engine

Thanks for posting this info up. I also have the LS376-495 and love it, but am looking for a bit more power without having to really open up the engine or install a supercharger.
Im going to look more into what you suggested. Thanks!

550 crank HP and 450- rwhp is doable with the right cam and springs in an otherwise stock LS3. But like everything there's trade offs. Bigger can equals more HP and torque but usually at higher rpm ranges. So less of that power used on street driving.
That's where the new LTs shine withe the vvt they make a lot wider torque curve and more of it down low and streetable. I talked to a guy with a 600hp+ camaro LS3 and he's also got a newer vette just the LT1 factory at 460hp. He said his vette hands down has better seat of pants feel in the rpm range being used on street.
His Camaro yeah its great to tell everyone over 600hp but how many stoplights can you leave at and shift at 6500-7 grand

Any concerns at that power level with the hypereutectic piston?

No. No knock detected, e85, oil cooler, big coolant tank, c&r heat exchanger, and I know a guy or two that helped me with my vaporworks system. Lol.

I've got a crate LS3 with a 229/236 cam. Tuned by Ryne Cunningham.

Car runs 10.79@126 on the motor and 9.86@137 on a 150 shot. All of this is on 91 octane pump gas, in a 68 camaro

I’ve made 730 whp with a stock LS3 bottom end. They’re stout if tuned well. I’ve done all my own tuning, and have yet to hurt one at the half mile events I’ve run. These were supercharged LS3s (one a Vortec and one a Magnuson).

I also made 458 whp with a cam/header/intake LS3. Cam was a 224/236 114+2. It was in a C6 and trapped 123 mph the one time I had it at the strip.
