Well as the fronts have been discussed at length and seem vwey straight forward to mount (c5 bracket or afx spindle) however nobody has addressed how the rears would mount. Unfortunately it is impossible to search for c5 so i was unable to track down how to mount the rear calliper from a c5 (as they are appareltly identical) as well as the parking brake mechanisim.
Anyone got any ideas, id like to have all the parts here by the time i get the brakes so i can bolt them up and go (my wheels as well, since seeing drums behind a 19" would just be gross)

Do a search for LS1 rear brakes or something like that. The C5 swap is extremely similar on the rear, since the calipers are nearly identical. However, C6 Z06 rear brakes and C5 rear brakes are much different.
The C5 is a single piston caliper on a 12" disc.
The C6 Z06 is a four piston caliper on a 13"(13.5"?) disc.

Okay, and i was only saying that the mounting was the same, or atleast this is what i came to assume because of the guys over on corvette forum simply bolting the callipers up.
And i think 13.6" was the official number
It also just so happens that i have a rear end from a 99 ss camaro laying around so ill try and mock up everything up on that , i just hope theese huge suckers dont interfere with the suspension even if they are staggered.

My mistake, I misread what you said. Yeah, they bolt up in the same locations. You need to fab up some brackets to get them on the rear. I think there's a few companies who might sell them, but I'm not sure. I think most guys go the LS1 rear brake route, rather than the C5 because of the parking brake.

We are already on the ball in making the rear's work for the C5/6 and to mate them to a solid axle.
(LEAK) Uh.... oh yeah.... and retro fitting ABS with the four wire wheel speed sensors. (LEAK OFF)

from what I understand C6 stuff will bolt up where a C5 did, the mounting change is in the abutment.

Tom, you need to stop taking a leak :) Great news!

If you install c5 rears, what do you have to do for a parking brake?

Chicayne, any thoughts price wise with the adapters minus the speed sensors? And you think i can just send you guys my paychecks direct, figure it would save me some hassle hahah.

If you install c5 rears, what do you have to do for a parking brake? use a LS1 Camaro park brake abutment and rotor. C5 caliper only.

You could also go this route, (I will probably use this on my swap):

Well its not an adapter. It uses a factory C5/6 bearing pack and the C5/6 factory rear parking/emergency brake..... so you'll get the speed sensors weather or not you'll use the anyway. It also turns the housing into a semi floater, uses 300M axles and you can run negative camber in the rear with this design and utilize factory ABS. You can also use up to 40 spline axles as well.
So bye bye c-clips, axle breakage and goofy adapters..... and hello to using any C5/6 brake kit, meeting saftey regulations of all formal sanctioning bodies, the ability to run four wheel four wire ABS (and traction control ta-boot) and not to mention it being able to be used on all straight axle housings, not just 10/12 bolts, but the F8.8 and F 9".... DANA and Mopar units as well.

Though the ats soultion sounds awesome its not only waaay overkill for me but also wont be ready until next summer, anybody got any other leads asto what i should do, aside from fab up something from scratch.... dont really trust my work when it comes to what holds my brakes together....

I say, when you get your parts in, make VERY good friends with Mr.Quick, and talk to us about getting something together for you. If you're nice, we may be able to get something done. Although you have to remeber that I'm probably forcing this on Vince and that he'll screw me one way or another......
