Hi everbody!I New to the Pro-touring community
I have a 67 firebird, and due to tax reasons I have to keep my Stock conrolarms!
so im in the process of upgrading me suspension, im replacing all bushings with polyurethane. Except Upper controlarms, where in have bought a set of del-a-lum from globa West, and a set of bilstein shocks, and a set of ,5” tall upper Ball joint from proforge, now my question!!
is i a god idea to reinforce the lover controlarms or is it just a waste of time/money??
looking forward to get some info on this.

It is fine to re-enforce your stock lowers, pay attention to making the ball joint area stronger, honestly a set of Del-a-lum bushings in the lower arms would be much better than in the uppers, the lower arms are subjected to much more load than the uppers. I would also install .5 taller ball joints in the lower arms.

Nothing wrong with stock control arms. If you put the time and some money in, they can be a great setup.
I would say get yourself some AFCO or Global West lower control arm bushings as well. Stabilizing those lower control arm bushings will minimize/eliminate control arm shift.

Hey, If you end up reinforcing them, post some pics if you can. I've been putting off replacing my lowers for like..ever...so I'd love to hear if you see a difference.

A little added strength to the stock lower control arms would be helpful. They've even been known to have cracks after years of road punishment (make sure yours aren't before you start). I'm sure there's a lot more deflection going on under loading than a tubular one would have.
As others said, tall balljoints to help the camber curve and delrin bushings in the lower control arms would be very beneficial.

Think that some also strap around the ball joint radius for additional rfeinforcement, but may nit be necessary

Bingo, those arms crack at the ball joint hole.
