Changing Studs on Camaro Pedal Assembly

The studs on my stock 68 Camaro pedal assembly (that mount through the firewall) are too short for a Wilwood MC with Combination Proportioning Valve. Note; I am not running a brake booster. Is it possible to press the studs out and replace them? If you have done this any tips would be helpful.

Weld a longer bolt to the back side after you cut the old one off.
