new to forum,, i have a 1970 GTO worked 400, eibach lowering springs,, just purchased Year One staggered 17"-- 8/9 wheel set.
YO recommends 245/45/17 fronts and 275/40/17 rear.
was thinking 235/50/17 fronts and 275/50/17 rears. either Nitto 555 or Firehawk Indy 500
Will this combo work?? don't want rubbing issues later on.
thanks

Never ever did I rub with 245 up front on 15s.
Rubbed outer lip on 275 /60/15 Nitto 555Rs,but correct backspacing would have solved it.

The 555R hooked hard everytime with a solid cam 468 Olds big block.

Get the backspacing right and 275 should be great. For reference, I'm running 295/40/18s now and the would rub all day without the watts link preventing lateral shift in the axle. The stock 4 link shifted about 3/4 inch in turns in mine.

Oh, the 69 Cutlass I think also loses some real estate because the fender lip digs back into the wheel well.

Hope this helps.
