Thanks...I’m not going to want to bolt it in the car.... haha
Put in the speed tech extreme tunnel to clear the trans, also found a MCI interior kit on the forums. Showed up a couple days ago. Really like it so far. Was worried the console wouldn’t clear my trans tunnel but it went in there good.

Some of the fab work so far. Still haven’t decided on what color to paint this car. Have to decide kind of soon, getting ready to smooth out the underside
Speed tech rear crossmember tig welded in. Tilton clutch master mocked up, and master cylinder out of a 14 z28. Trans tunnel fab. Transmission with shifter, no h pattern on this one!

Great looking trans, and for what it is, the price seems quite reasonable!
I was looking at their website, but could not find the ratio table.
What gear ratios did you get?

Hey Andrew, they have pretty much any ratio you’d need. I have the chart somewhere in my email. I’ll post it up on here when I find it.
I was looking at a lot of different sequential transmissions and this one holds a lot of power, it also helped they had $3000 off for the first 25 customers who bought them and was made in the USA. So I thought it was a killer deal.
I specd mine with 2 overdrives

Wow that trans is beautiful.. ! Very cool build.
Should've used a full floater rear end in my opinion :)
-Dale
Yeah. $15,500 according to their website.

I agree a floater would be cool. I got a great deal from Speedtech on the suspension parts as a package but it’s never too late to change to rear floater.. haha
You know how it is with these cars it always starts out with some sort of a budget then gets blown way out of proportion with cool stuff. I think at this point I don’t even want to know how much I’m going to have in this one.. haha

Yeah. $15,500 according to their website.
Got mine a couple months ago for 12,500 shipped with gear indicator. I think I was one of the last guys to get $3000 off. Add that with triple carbon clutch, bell, LT5... doesn’t take long to get a ton tied up quick!!

Hey Don, thanks for the deal on the interior!!!
Anybody know of a really good power window kit for the Camaro’s?
Starting to look at wheels, leaning towards Forgeline. Any dealers on here?

Nu-Relics are the best power windows. They have door or console switch options. Matt’s Classic Bowties can set you up. Same with Forgeline wheels.

We are a dealer for both companies, I’d be happy to help you out.

Great project! The firewall plate is a slick piece.
When planning the fuel system be aware that the GM fueling requirements in their instructions may be incorrect. The latest specifications of the LT1, LT4, and LT5 all have the same 45gph flowrate requirement. That's not enough for LT5.
The LT4 in the Gen6 and CTS-V uses the same pumping section as the Gen5 ZL1 module. At 650 rated horsepower, the engine is evenly matched with the GM Performance recommended Gen5 ZL1 pump that makes 60gal/hr at 65psi. The LT5 is another 100hp on top of that, so more pump will be needed.
Early versions of the LSA fueling instructions were incorrect as well, so it's not unprecedented that GM Performance has some difficulty specifying their aftermarket conversion requirements.

Thanks for the heads up on the fuel system stuff. Definitely don’t want to buy parts twice!
in the LT5 paperwork it said to run it at 75psi, I’ll have to look and see if there was any reccomended pump gph.
Finally got some front drive parts yesterday, ECMs are still not ready yet. I’ve had the engine for about 3 months hopefully GM will have the stand alone sometime soon.
have to make some power steering brackets for the pump, then we will see if it will go in the Speedtech subframe. GM put in a 11 rib for the blower which I like

Thanks guys for the power window mfg./ wheel dealer recomendation.
Can’t wait to get this thing going. Hopefully work won’t get too crazy and I can still get it done this year.
Super happy with the Speedtech parts too. Very nice fab work from those guys!

Nice setup. I may have missed it, but what are you doing for the rear suspension? I'm going to be running the LT4 in my build, (just got the motor/trans delivery). I went with the SPEC chassis from Roadster Shop. Looks to be built extremely well. Just dropped it at the powder coating place today.
Can't wait to see how your project goes!!

Went with the Speedtech extreme torque arm rear suspension with 9” rear on mine. Was looking at your build, your car is going to be super nice. I agree the roadster shop stuff is really nice!!

Thanks MOTOWN, Weve always had a shop Boxer here. My old Boxer before Tyson was T-Bone. He would sit in front of the race car hauler before we would go racing. He never wanted to miss the races. So much personality with the boxers.
Have been making some small progress. Primer work being done on the underside and firewall with a bunch of sanding. Going with the flush mount glass, so im about to start modifying the pillars. This week were going to mock up the subframe and make mounts for the transmission. Got it up on the 2 post lift today.
Also finally received the LT5 stand alone , man those ecms are big!
As always Tyson helping out.

Going to try to hide them inside somewhere hopefully. Have quite a bit of room on the back side of the firewall. We will see though, this ECM is so much bigger. Mocking up the engine/bellhousing/transmission today.

Makin progress... starting to mock up some parts. LT5 went in there pretty easy, had to do some metal work on the subframe to clear the dry sump pan and 2 drain plugs. Transmission went in good, modified the back trans mount to fit. Shifter is in a good spot.

Any updates? I'm getting things sorted out for an LT5/Tremec in my 69 with a Speedtech extreme frame. Curious what you did the modify the firewall for the high pressure pump and where you are putting your oil tank. I'm tentatively planning on the battery tray and moving the battery to the trunk. Which front drive set up did you end up using for yours with the extreme frame?
