View Full Version : Coilover Compatability with DSE Control Arms

I just purchased some Detroit Speed upper and lower control arms for my 1972 Camaro. I’m not interested in running the Koni shocks or JRI coil overs that DSE offers in their kits.
My question is, will any manufacturers coilovers work with these arms? I would like to run Viking double adjustables if they are compatible. I may call DSE directly but like another thread i read, DSE is going to suggest I run one of the products they sell and not a competitor’s product with their arms.
Thanks for any insight!

So long as they have compatible mounts then you can run anything you want.

Number One, check with DSE
Number Two, pictures would help, but if the Lower Arm has the holes for a T-Bracket, then a ViKing should fit

I only see a stock spring pocket on these. Not sure how the dse coil overs mount.

Also unclear how the DSE coil over mounts but says here they work on any 2nd gen and don’t require the DSE arms. that may also be the case with the Viking setup.

Thanks for all the replies.
I emailed Viking and they said the same thing. It should work as long as the lower control arm has a T-Bar mount on the lower shock mount. Attached is a photo of the DSE lower control arm.

Looks like such a mount. Let us know when you get it installed. I have these arms too on my 71 and want to keep track of my options for coil overs down the road.
