Well....I jacked my 65 Tempest up to see what I could use for wheels and tires. What I found was there is 6 5/8" from the outermost part of the hub (where the wheel bolt to) to the inner fender, and at 15" above the center line of the hub, the wheel well is 12" wide. It then tapers to 11" wide as you move up higher. From these numbers can you help me figure in the largest tire/rim @ 18" and 20" rim sizes and the required back spacing. From my reserch, it looks like a 275/40/18 on a 9" wheel is the largest 18" wheel/tire combo I can go, but dont know the backspacing? I would like to have the car low and the tire tucked up nice, thats why I may go with a 20" wheel.

HELP!!!
