Does anyone know what cars come with the Mini Denso or nippondenso alternators? A google search just yields all the aftermarket options.

Hey Chris-

This is the one that is small- not the super small one (35-50A) - it's found on early 90's Suzuki Swifts/Geo Metro 1.3l with AC- Stock is 75A- I had mine gone through and it's now 125A. Went with the smallest pulley to get max output at idle. This is the best one to go with- size and power output.

Here's a comparison of size-

Also notice the small size of the BMW pulley

BMW 140A - mini Nippon-Denso (not the one I went with) - GM stock Corvette

Wiring is simple-

I was able to tuck it in-

Richard- thanks for all the info! Did you have someone local beef up your alternator or did you purchase one online? Also...do you know what the max (alternator shaft) RPM is for yours? I’d like to overdrive mine as well because I need as many amps as possible at low speed for the electric PS pump. I’d really love to get 120A out of that super small one though...

I had a guy that I use to work with go through it- there are several guys that do it- the best way to really get the output increased and run the small case is run an external rectifier.

Don't know the max shaft speed- I'm running the stock pulleys from BMW.

Something like this- and it has it's own cooling fan.
