I bought a used LQ9 engine and 4L60 transmission for my Camaro which just got installed but the transmission dipstick is sticking out
half way onto the top of the engine along the passenger side fuel rail.

The engine/tranny I bought as installed in a 69 Camaro.

I'm guessing the tranny dipstick/tube could be from a Gen 4 Camaro where half the engine is tucked under the firewall so it might need a transmission
dipstick like this or possibly from a truck or SUV.

It would look much better if the dipstick was coming up along the firewall and not extending over top of the engine.

Which dipstick-tube would you guys recommend for the 4L60 that might work out for me?

A couple of good options for the 4l60 include ones from Lokar or maybe a factory F-body one.

Might try to see if a dipstick from a 2005 GTO will work out or perhaps a C4 corvette but they have the LT1 engine
so the mounting bracket might have to be modified to fit the LS.

I'll check out the Gen 4 F-body too but I think the one I have might be from one of those.

The firewall mount Lokar ones are really nice and will keep it tucked out of the way.

I found a nice dipstick/tube from Hughes Performance in Phoenix.
It's 22 inch long comes with locking stick.
They also have one for a truck application that's 4 inches longer.

It's available for the 4L60/700R4 PN: HP 3738 or for the LS engine PN: HP 3738 LS

Decided to buy the Lokar Firewall mount dipstick.
