Let me explain....
I have no heater or air conditioning in my car (nor will I ever) but I notice that without all the ductwork behind them there appears to be nowhere to bolt on the air vents on the dash.
Is anyone else using their air ducts as ornamental only and how did you fasten them to the dash?

The ball and bezel connect to the valve assembly and a screw holds it all tight. You might not want heat or air but the astrovent is nice.

I don't think I have the Valve Assemblies any longer. I'm going to have to do a little backyard engineering I'm afraid.

Yeah the factory vents are held to the dash with one screw. Do you have all of the other pieces? With all of the ducting, there is no “tension”. All of the pieces from the firewall just plug into each other. If you are missing parts, I am sure there are guys on the board (that have converted to Vintage Air) that would have any parts you might need.

That guy is 5 minutes from where I live. But not a very nice guy at all. We have a National Parts Depot in Canton (about 45 minutes away) and I actually go there instead for my parts just to avoid him.

If you need the part that attaches to the cowl, I have an extra set.

Chris can you take a pic of what they look like? I might have them lying around in a box somewhere. Thanks.

Here are a couple of pics of all of the pieces individually and together. The harder ones to find (if you are missing them) is the piece that is attached to the firewall. I have an extra set of those but just left town for work. Won’t be home the holidays but if you need it let me know.
