Hi I have a pair of Ridetech HQ series coilover shocks that I had picked up for a different project but now decided to install in my chevelle to get the rearend lower. Is there a company that sells just these brackets or universal ones that bolt in? I have three young kids so that doesn't leave me much time so if I could find something to make progress quick that would be great!
I don't mind modifying, cutting, welding just want something to start out with. Might be a bit more difficult as the body is on the frame.
All the kits I've noticed online the coilover comes with but I'm hoping to make the coilovers I have work. If it helps at all mine are roughly 19" extended, part number is 24169901. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Ridetech won't sell you the brackets?...

We have the brackets that go with the kits you could use, that's no problem. The only issue I foresee is that the bracket we have for our kit (to set the A body platform up with a 2" lowered stance) is built around a 5.2" stroke shock (<--- 14.5" ride height). If you're wanting that 2" lowered stance, the 6.3" shock is going to be closer to bottoming out than what I'd like to see.

Kevin, the best way to set your car up with those coil overs is to set your rear up at ,your desired ride height, and make your brackets to the center to center mounting those shocks reccomend.
And an easy way is,when the car is at ride height, have 3.15 of that shock shaft showing, which is half of that 6.3 shock stroke.
When I made mine the first round I used square tubing I cut and welded, the second iteration I had some 1/4 plate plasma cut to my specs and bent them on my press.
I'll try to get some pics later today.

Here are some pics of how the speed tech brackets are l based mine kinda like there's but used a 7.00 stock shock.
Take note of how the lower bracket flate mounting is in the same plane as the axle tube, that is because the factory shock sits in that plane,so you need to be consider that when making yours.
You can use pre made shock tabs for the uppers and a plate.
I machined my own lower mount when I worked at a machine shop.
You could use a tube and weld it with a gusset,it will be your design since your fabricating it
And you will need to source spacers for the upper shock mount.
As a note the pics are a speedtech, part not mine.
I will say it will take you alot of time making the brackets, and plus if you dont have access to a lathe or mill l,or plasma cutter it will be hard for you and the part most likley won't come out very nice looking, and you should be welding these together with a 220volt mig or tig, please dont use a 110volt welder when making these.

Ok thanks bud I had wanted to do up this rear suspension in the car quite some time ago but unfortunately life got in the way and was put on hold but now I'm starting to get back into it so basically at this point was just getting some ideas with shock angle and such and best location.
Right now I have the car sitting on my four post hoist with roughly the ride height I want. I do have a miller 212, miller syncrowave 250, everlast 250ex and a thermal dynamics cutmaster 38 in the garage and do 90% tig for welding. At work we have lathes and mills with access to all sorts of materials so I'm good on those fronts. I hope to start mocking something up this weekend

Well was finally able to make up some prototype brackets they turned out ok but may still add another bolt tab but wanna see how this setup will work than spend time building a nice set. Have the car set to the ride height I want tires are tucked nicely in the wheel wells hopefully won't have too much body sway as I think there's about 1/2 inch clearance inside and out of the tires. Thanks for everyone's input I like being able to put my tools to use! Here's a couple pics before putting on car, I'll try getting some on car pics if anyone's interested 171719171720

Rear suspension is all done and back together probably lowered it a good 3" from where it sat with the old ladder bars. So far driving is night and day from what I started with and am very happy, brackets worked out good so I'll probably just leave as is
