How much flex have you guys seen during autocross of road course ? I did a autocross today and my wheels moved 3/4 inch to make contact with the coilover bracket.

Is the picture showing metal shavings from the rim, or just scuffed rubber on the tire sidewall?

That's metal shavings were the rim made contact all the way around.

That begs the question... What wheels are you running?, what rear end?

....and what did it rub on? Picture is unclear.

Budnik 18X12
12 bolt rear I measured 10-15 thousands end play per side
The wheel hit the lower coil over bracket.

Better pictures I hope, you can see in one where the tire was rubbing on the actual coilover.
I have now modified the bracket to avoid further contact with the rim.

What did you do to fix it?

Man, 3/4” of wheel flex sounds like a ton to me. Are you sure it’s not the coil over bracket that is flexing?

What tire and air pressure were you running. I can see the tire moving over, but the wheel? That just seems like a lot..... Mine is closer than yours but I have not leaned on it that hard yet,..... you have me interested in changing my lower shock mount.

I am running Rivals, 32 psi. I am surprised at the movement too, it seems excessive that's why I'm asking.
I thought with the bracket being steel if it moved that much it would bend.

you have the wheel flexing in and the coil over pushes out on the bracket, so a little flex from both and "voila"

Does this car have a floater or a standard flanged or c-clip axles. If not a floater you can get a fair amount of movement with standard style rear ends. Combine the flex in several areas and that could explain your problems.

I am going to mount a GoPro for this weekends autocross and see what's going on.

looks to be on a stock GM housing, cut yourself a 1/4" plate to go between the spring perch and the lower bracket plate, or an aluminum block to fill the void where the leaf spring was.

It is a stock housing. Ridetech said they run the same setup with as little as 3/8 clearance and no rubbing.
