Hi guys - hope some one can help- my english is not the best so i hope you understand me correct.
I have the plan to switching to some other tires i have buy, but also wanted to switch back if i want.
Because it´s not only the tires...its more the "stance" and the ride height i must change with new tires i now thinking about the coil overs.

I´ts not a race car..only street driven BB GM A-Body, can i adjust with viking coil overs 1-1,5 inches down from stock ride height and the car still would be streetable?

thanks a lot

....in other words: how much is a safe ride height adjustability window with the vikings?

You can get about two inches of ride height adjustability from most Vikings.

different car ('73 Camaro) but you can see how much Thread you have on the Body of a Viking Coilover

And how this near 2 inch drop affect the ride quality..will the shocks work okay with 1,5 drop ?

I want to change tires and ride height (1,5") when ever i want.... is this the way i go ?

Ride Quality will be fine, you are not changing Spring Rate, just where the Spring is sitting

Keep in mind that as you lower the car you are reducing the amount of compression left in the shock. Ideally the shock should be roughly centered in its stroke at ride height. For example, if the shock had a five inch stroke and it was centered at ride height it would have 2.5 inches of compression. If you lowered the car you will reduce that 2.5 inches. The more you lower it, the more it decreases.

Seems to me that a better solution would be to go with an air ride suspension like RideTech that would allow you to adjust ride height from inside the car.

I know the theory that ideally the shock would be centered , yes . But this.... and the air ride system is not an option for me :-(

If i read your comments guys, i think it would work but it´s not ideal....so not ideal is a matter of opinion, correct? As i said before i´m not a racer only a streeter so maybe it´s enough for me......and it works.

How hard is it to change the height with coil overs with thrust bearings...?

I think you will be bottoming out your shock unless you have a high spring rate. Just my opinion....

Spring rate is set when made but to lower it are you not loading spring on its "seat pressure" by making the distance between upper and lower spring seats smaller-kind of like using the same valve spring at different IHs, same rate but different "seat pressure" and slightly different characteristics.

My english is not the best, so correct me if i´m wrong please....you say it will work with slightly different characteristics?
