Hi all my dad and I are building our second 68 Camaro. So I thought I would post the build and all the fun.
Car is a RS that I’ve had for 22 years and needs a lot of work. This will be a street car for the most part with some track fun. 152735

Looking great! Keep the updates coming.
Well didn’t get much done this weekend. Was going to mount the headers then install the sub frame. Had a set back the headers I went with was headman they hang way to low and hit just about every thing. Was going to fix the place they hit but way to much time to raise them a 11/4. So sending them back and taking the sub frame over to lemons next week to have a set of headers made to fit the Ride tech true turn and tucked up nice and tight. Here is some pics of the problems I ran in to. 155524155525155526155527

Great looking project! Is that going to be your ground clearance for your headers?
That’s the Headman headers that will not work for what I’m doing.

Great looking project! I'm curious what the color is for the Red 68 you built? I just painted my 1968 and it looks like the same color.
Well work got in the way of getting the sub frame over to Lemons to have the headers built. Was not going to be able to get there for a few months so instead of holding the work up I would try and build some. It’s a slow pace but is fun and I think there looking good. I should have them done next weekend. Here’s some pics of the headers so far. 156152156153156154156155156156156157156158
I beleave the red cars paint is a 2006 vete color.

hi,are you using offset frame mounts that push engine to pass side?regards
I have both frame mounts but went with the small block ones when I started building my own headers. I didn't like the way it off set the motor and raised it.

Excellent work on the headers! I've always wanted to try and build a set of my own headers.
GMC427 I'm not sure what you need pics of can you explain a little more and I will get you the pics.
Ryeguy building the headers was pretty easy with the Icengineworks modeling system and I made my owen jig to cut the bends. I ordered right from them so I only got the blocks I needed. I used 3" CLR U bends so I ordered 50 3" CLR 2" bend blocks and 70 straight blocks if I was to order again get 50/50 split. I got my tubing from Race Mufflers.com. It took 17 2 1/4" U bends to build the headers and I didn't waste any. The U bends have enough strait tubing so didn't need to order any.

Nice body work. You got skills. Looks great!
Thanks TA. This is the first time going to depth of body work. I want the car to be slick with no chrome. Got the wheels ordered up from Boze and they should be here in 4 weeks. Ordered the Chicane wheels in brushed.
Wheels got here to day and they look great. 162948162949
Thanks Zach at Boze wheels.
This weekend I will get them mocked up on the car and make sure they fit good then time to start the body work.

what sizes have you gone with?
GMC I went with 18x8 in the front and 19x11 in the rear both with a 5” back spacing. Cooper tires 245 40 18 and 325 30 19.
I got them fitted up and everything fits good and they look great. Car still needs to be lowered a bit. 163021163022
Now I can finish up the little bit of metal work and start doing the body work.

KCR,
Great job on the car. I know a lot of hours go into getting body work just where you want it, I am in the middle of that weld here, cut there, grind here lol. I did notice you were using port fuel injection and that's what I plan on I'm just curious to see what ecu you are using. I plan on a Holley Dominator so that I can control my 4L80E trans all in one unit. If you are using Holley how has it been with setting up the 540? Continued success on your build
Thanks
BB
Bad Bowtie ,
I'm using the Holley HP ECU. The set up was real easy. Just put in motor specs check all wiring and hit the key.
I really need to update. Car is getting paint next weekend and goes to the upholstery shop end of the month
188197188198188199Hi All I did a really bad job at keeping up with this thread. The car is done and been driving and working out all the bugs of a new build. the biggest one was the TH400 didn't last long so a month or so ago we added a 4L60E built by Profomabuild what a beast and what a difference. With the TH400 the car only did 500 HP had to be something wrong with it from the start but now 600 + HP and overdrive. had some issues with the cooling but that turned out to be not getting enough voltage to the fans.
For the interior I went with 2016 mustang seats hand built the center console and trunk area.

what color is your car. I really like it.
The color is Rosetta Red from a 2019 Range Rover.
