I'm installing this fiberglass dash panel top make it easier to mount an aftermarket radio in my 67 'Bird. I plan to put 4 (2x2) 2-1/16 auto meter gauges on the top portion. And the radio below. I have a few ideas but thought I try and get some other ideas on how to mount a modern radio in this panel.

I'd go to a salvage yard and find something that matches decently then harvest whatever support structures or bezels there might be then get a generic install kit from crutchfield or something. Between those two things you should have enough to whip up a solid structure to carry the weight and have a reasonably factory look to it.
Who makes that center dash panel? I like the look of it.
Thanks,
Daniel

Is that panel facing down? You might have some issues with visibility unless you get a head unit with an adjustable viewing angle - like some of Kenwood's nav units.
