Newbie DSE help needed

Hello,
has anyone used DSE lowers (gen 1 camaro 69') with any other brand upper arms? Got a great deal on the the lowers but the uppers are out of the budget for now. Can I use stock uppers? This would be for a spring/shock setup, not coliovers. Would also be running stock spindles. I've read some conflicting reports on whether I have to run DSE springs as well, would like a 500#/550# with a 2" drop if possible. Should i just bite the bullet and go with DSE uppers as well? thanks for any and all recommendations.

I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t install DSE lower arms and save up for the uppers. The only PIA would be another alignment, but not a big deal. You don’t have to run special springs. I’m OCD, I would run only DSE uppers with their lowers. I wouldn’t brand mix.

More food for thought. lowers don't donahole heckuba lot. Uppers are where a the geometry is so Important. But if money's tight some cheaper uppers like MBM with tall ball joints would be much better than stock until you could get DSE uppers and tall spindles.

you can run the DSE lowers with the stock upper arm and it will give you about 1- 1.5 degree more caster than you could get with stock (the lower balljoint location is improved) just save up and get the DSE upper later, or you can use Global west or Ridetechs upper also both have geometry that complement the DSE lower, if you run a stock spindle you should run a tall upper ball joint and do a Guldstrand mod also

if you use a tall spindle .. like the Fatman/Ridetech spindle is one of the tallest and you don't need the guldstrand or tall balljoint with that one as long as the tire width is 255 and less, a 275 tire width usually on a 9.5rim with 5.5 backspace changes the scrub radius and feathers the outer edges of the tires and at this point you need to allow the car to have dynamic camber gain by adding a solution to the tall spindle
