I am looking for a safe seatbelt solution for my 1970 Chevelle. I don't want the stock seatbelts because of the lack of a shoulder harness and I don't want a roll bar so installing 5-Point harnesses safely is not going to be an option either, unless you guys know of another way. So what are my options since I don't want to put in a roll bar? Thanks in advance for any help.

Try Morris Classic. They make 3-point belts for first gen Camaros and may have them for Chevelles as well. Do a search on this forum.

So far you are looking like the safest solution. Have you done crash tests? Where does the top piece bolt to on a 1970 Chevelle?

Our seatbelts are FMVSS tested. Our brackets are made from stainless steel which is stronger than the manufactures bracket that is sewn on the end of the seatbelt.
Our seatbelts bolt to the body in the factory mounts. We have a patented bracket that swivels and attaches to the factory mounting places in the roof pillar of the car. We take precautions such as using grade 8 bolts and the nuts are tig welded to prevent the nuts from backing off. We torque the mounting bolts. Assembled in a fixture to get the correct angle for the specific car and year as we don't make any universial fit applications. Comfortable to wear. Looks factory.
Some of the cars that have our seatbelts are the Detroit Locker/Super Chevy Chevelle, Camaro Performer/ Goodmark Camaro, Colton Camaro and people such as yourself from this web site that have high recommendations of the workmanship and quality of our seatbelts.
Look at the Chevelle on our web page www.morrisclassicconcepts.com (http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com)
Hope this information helps

A little more information about our seatbelts.
Crash testing would require a complete car to be trashed. The stainless steel hardware that we use is stronger than the seatbelt manufactures brackets that are on the end of the belt. The car manufacture uses grade 7 bolts we use grade 8. Button head bolts and SAE washers are included.

Billy, are there any plans for rear shoulder belts? I have kids and would feel much better about driving them around with three point seatbelts in the rear. I know there are a lot of others who feel the same way. Do you know of any way to install rear three-point belts in a 68 Camaro?
By the way I have your front seat belts and am really happy with them. I had been searching for a long time for a bolt-in three point belt and was glad to find your product.

Thank You for your purchase and compliment.
We don"t make any at this time. The mounting places are sketchy from GM. I have seen some drawings that were suppossed to be GM with the mounting places for the rear belts but there is pinch point and mounting point issues. We think that seatbelts should only be mounted in the original manfactures designated places. Sorry that I don"t have any
other information.

Rear 3-points were a factory option 70-71. It appears the mounting holes stayed in the back deck for the whole 2nd gen run. They are there in my 77.
Someone at nastyz28 posted this link. http://www.andoauto.com/deck.htm
I'm still buying the front ones form Billy @ Morris for my 67. Billy, you have them for the 77?

We have the retractable 3-point seatbelts for your 67 Camaro and
66-73 Nova, Chevelle & Firebird. I don"t know if the 73 Camaro seat
belts will fit in your 77 Camaro . You could call us and I will give you the measurements between the points so you can measure on your car and compare. Thank You, Billy

I got my 3 point belts from www.carguysoforange.com . Had some trouble initially getting ahold of Joe (the seatbelt guy) there, but when I did he helped me out alot with all of my questions. I have the front ones in (for a few months) and they work great. I ordered the rear setup also but have not installed it yet. Let me know if you have any questions.

I would be interested in any information you have on the rear belts. How do they mount? Does it look like they will work as well as the front belts? Could you post pictures?
Thanks

Their fronts fit good. The rears are exactly like the link in Bonzohansen's reply. I haven't installed them yet though. Will try and send you some of the fronts via email. Going on my all expenses paid 3 month "vacation" to the land of sand tomorrow. :hammer: Hope everyone has a good Xmas!
