Guys I am wondering what everybody likes out there. If you were building a 69 camaro (imagaine that ) mini tubbed and all and you had no budget on wheels you would use what would it be ?

HRE? FIKSE? DPE? YOU NAME IT . Just curious what else is out there than the brands I know . Thanks

Im partial to import wheels. Like racinghart.

not just 3 piece but but exotic ones.

how cool is that?

and then there is ROH

and DPE fits into the exotic catagory well.

HRE
Fikse
and kinesis are all awesome. But they are also almost common on the high end builds.

I-forged wheels are super hot right now.

dont forget about team III superilite replicas.

I personally like DPE wheels cause my car is getting a set and they are nice guys to talk to.

Your question was if I had no budget, I would design a set myself and have them machined and made by a wheel company for me. Thats got to be expensive.

I agree with Bob...... I would call up Jason R have him design a one off wheel for me then call up MHT in cali and have a set made. One off's are the only way to go if you want extra attention.....

1. HRE -- lets face it, even if they are not the best they are considered the best by many.. beautiful wheel and when you see them you know the owner didn't cheap out..

2. Forgeline -- Hey, for some reason I am partial to these ;)

3. Fikse -- like jewlery, subtle and understated

4. Any other three piece forged wheel

5. Any other billet wheel

6. 15" slot mags.. yea baby!

I'm a fan of the Forgeline wheels. In fact, I made Bill put them on his GTO. I want a set of the five spokes on my car.

but then your wheels would be worth more than the whole car with you in it!

Ehhh I'm not that big of a fan of HRE, they are EXTREMELY expensive for what you get. Put a set of CCW's next to them and if anything I like Johns wheels better, for 1/3 the price. And he won't shaft you if there is ever a problem. Based on his service and willingness to make custom stuff he's the only way to go.

So I would day

CCW
Kinesis
BBS
forgeline

You would never catch me droping $10k on a set of HRE or startech wheels.

I'm a Fikse fan. A polished set of FM/5's really do it for me.

My opinion would be wheels custom machined from billet aluminum. There are a number of independent shops in Detroit that have not gone out of business yet. You can have a set of wheels for your ride that are unique in the world. And as a "one off" item you won't get deja vu' everytime you see a set of Torque Thrusts.
