I read that a 245 was the widest, not sure how true though

Stock fenders, or stock inner fenders? I'm pretty sure you can get a 265 or 275 on there with steering stops, but you're going to almost definitely have to remove the inner fenders. You wouldn't need more than an 18x9 for a 265. Alot of it depends on how low the car is, and how tucked the wheel is. I know a few guys with 67/68s have done the 275s. CarlC is one of them. Who makes the 335/35/18s? I don't think I've ever seen a set? Most manufacturers make a 335/30/18.

my bad , 335/30/18 sorry . i was thinking of using a 18x8.5 with a 255 on it . and stock fender and stock fender wells. i found out that it takes some massaging of the wells to fit anything larger . I think the 8.5's will be fine

Ive seen 275's on 9.5s once but have no idea what it took to get them in there. I should be there soon with my Nova and the fronts are rear close between the 2.

Carl has 275s on 9.5s. Careful measurement and Speedtech arms with steering stops are among the things he did. I'm sure there is more to it though.
