Anybody using Dakota Digital VHX guages in a 69 Camaro DSE dash insert?

I like the look of the Dakota Digital VHX 1200. Website states that it's for a Marquez design dash($3300 for the dash and door panel kit). I am not a fabricator, does anyone know if it can easily be made to fit the DSE dash insert on my 69 camaro? It's out of my budget to even consider a $3300 dash kit. I see DSE website says dash will accept 5"guages, so not sure if the VHX 1100 being smaller in dimensions would even work. Any info is greatly appreciated.

While this isn't the exact model VHX you might be looking at, I saw this 69 at the DSE booth at the Turkey Rod Run a couple of months ago in Daytona. I had never seen a VHX setup in the DSE dash. I talked to Stacey and she said it was a customers car.
