The newest holley swap parts work if youre willing to use their mid-length headers. I can say for sure that you can use the old hooker long tube swap headers, mast motorsports swap pan, stock size or smaller steering box (iroc box works as well), dirty dingo DD engine plates, short/wide frame stands and matching motor mounts. Just to clarify, the entire new Hooker 1st-gen swap system of components can now be used with the Ridetech Tru-turn system, including the long-tube headers. The tube bend geometry of one of the tubes on the passenger side header was revised during the summer to eliminate the fitment interference issue that previously existed between the components. The older Hooker headers may fit with typical swap plates as well, but they don't provide the optimized drivetrain/ U-joint geometry that the new Hooker mounting components do, or allow installation of a T56 into the car without having to cut the floor. The new Hooker headers are also compatible with the stock, 3rd-gen IROC or Delphi 600 series steering boxes and provide much better spark plug/wire and ground clearance.

So if i buy the complete Holley/hooker kit i should have no fitment issues? headers should clear the steering, oil pan will clear the frame, and trans should fit without cutting the tunnel? Also, how can i tell im getting the newest kit that will work with the tru turn.
thanks!

The fitment of the Hooker components is what I was speaking of specifically. I've read user reports of having to modify the front corners of the Holley 302-2 pan sump to clear the inner tie rods on the Ridetech set-up on full-lock turns, but I cannot verify that on a first-hand basis. That leaves the Mast pan as an option for you if you want to keep things being a bolt-on operation. The revised design headers are easy to distinguish if you are buying them in stainless steel as they now are produced in our Bowling Green facility and carry a unique Hooker Blackheart line part number, which you will see when looking them up on the Holley website. The engine mounts and crossmember that you'll need to order are part numbers 12618HKR and 12626HKR respectively. Yes, the trans will fit without cutting the tunnel as long as you are using a stock subframe with stock height body bushings that are in good condition. There are multiple members here on this site that have used the whole Hooker set-up on their cars along with the Ridetech set-up that can report on the compatibility of everything for you first hand a tell you what oil pan they used...cwylie is one of those members, so you might want to send him a PM.

Thats awesome you revised the headers to fit, I did not know that. I cant wait to try the new holley components on the next build.

Yeah, I was happy to get that one taken care of...I modified enough sets for guys that it was easy to convince management that we should make the revision.

72 Nova Ride Tech Level 3 with Tru Turn with LS7 dry sump pan. As far as I know this is the only car with the Tru Turn and LS7 oil pan.
AAM Solid Mounts
AAM Long tube headers
AAM Tranny cross member (T56)
NO cutting on the firewall or trans tunnel.

I used a complete kit...earlier version of the Hooker Long Tubes. I am using a Holley 302-2 pan with the baffle installed. I had to clearance a header tube on each side to clear the inner tie rod. I also had to grind down a inner corner on each side of the Tru Turn center link adapter to clear the oil pan at full lock. Nothing to extreme. I used the complete Holley-Hooker kit for my LS3-T56 swap into my 69 Firebird Track car build. Drive line angles were spot on and I didn't have to touch the firewall or floor pan. I have a Lee 600 steering box that has to be removed to get the drivers header on/off.

I using Speed and Performance mounts, Autokraft oil pan, Speedtech trans crossmember and Stainless works headers. I am also using an AGR 12-1 steering box and complete Ridetech front and back (tru turn, SA coil overs and muscle bar). Everything fits without issue in the stock subframe. The headers are approx 1/2" below the subframe. No issues in 2500 street miles so far.
What is rubbing to cause the sparks in the picture?

This is great news! I am currently in the middle of this swap and the headers were a concern. So happy you fixed these to allow the use of long tubes.

cant help didn't use any of that...

didn't even notice....Trackside Suzy was my spotter and she notice the sparks ...that is at about 70+ mph and the car was under full compression coming out of a turn and off the rumble strips....tires didn't rub, springs and shocks didn't bottom out, so I pulled the front shocks off between sessions and added a medium afco bump stop to limit shocks compression length

Has anybody used the Milodon 30915 oil pan with a tru turn steering set up? Just trying to confirm if this oil pan will work or not with the set up in a 67 camaro. Also, any negative things about the oil pan?

Hey Chris,
Which speed and performance mounts did you use? I'm assuming that is Texas Speed and Performance? I went to their website and looked and saw two different ones. Dirty Dingos and Hooker and they had a ton of different Dirty Dingos mounts. Also, do you attend any local car shows? I live in Brunswick, GA and am doing a lot of the same stuff you are doing with my 67 Camaro. I'd love to be able to see your car and how it turned out.
