So driving along today in my 74 I notice my seat starting to feel loose, I figure it's a loose mounting bolt or something but when I checked it turned out the driver's left bracket broke where it bends down and bolts onto the floor. I can and will weld it back up as a quick fix, but I'm spooked enough now that I want new brackets for the passenger and driver's side so I don't need to worry about any more 40 year old seat brackets snapping on me out of nowhere. I'd love to put in more modern seats right now but don't have the cash, so I was thinking about the corbeau D176T brackets for the 70-74 firebird. Does anyone know how much modification I'll need to do to get the stock seats to bolt up to these?

That is a real good question. Im not sure why the aftermarket hasn't started making repop seat tracks for the OEM seats. You would think with as many 2nd gens are out there, it would be an item that would be worth looking at.
