      Transmission control module help

I am helping a friend on a 2005 Vette. The transmission went out at 17000 miles. Yes that is correct 10yrs old and 17000 miles. We replaced the Transmission with a GM unit and took it for a ride and it seems as though the torque converter is staying locked up or trying to lock up right after the car starts to move. We checked the voltage and ohm out the connector to the TCM(t42). We got another new T42 and tried using it but it is showing up as not programmed(P0602) code. We have EFILive and tried to program it to make it work but i could not make it work on the car. Does anyone know what I am missing on trying to program the tcm. Also I could see the speedometer on the EFI dashboad but the speedo in the vette would not work with the new controller.

What was the failure of the previous original transmission?
Did you replace the torque converter and flush the transmission oil cooler along with the transmission replacement?
Is the "GM unit" you installed remanufactured (SRTA)

Not sure about the TCM programming with EFi Live. Only way I know how to program a module to a vehicle is through Service Programming systems on GM's website.

Thanks for the reply and the unit was rebuilt by GM. We did find out that the TCM went bad causing the torque converter to stay locked up. A local GM dealer reprogrammed the TCM and the car is back and running.
