Hey everyone.
Im ready to pull the trigger on wheels for my 68 firebird build. I rented the wheel fitment tool a while ago and I am looking at rear wheel size 18x9.5. I have a built ford 9" that is a little narrower than OE, and the backspacing I found was 1/4 different from side to side. My Pass rear is 3/8 from the inner fender at 5.25 BS and my drivers rear is 3/8 from the inner fender at 5.5 BS. I have DSE 3" drop leaf springs and delrin bushings, so there shouldnt be a whole lot of movement or rotation. Is 3/8" enough on the inside? What BS would work better, 5.25 sticking out a little more on the drivers side, or 5.5 and using a small spacer on one side if needed? This is my first build and I have no experience tucking bigger wheels in, so I am not sure what a normal or accepted amount of space is.
Thanks for any input or experiences!
Ken
