When to cut and buff ppg Dc4010

I heard its hard to cut and buff if you wait too long. When should that process take place? My painter mostly spray spies heckler and not ppg. Just want to pass the info along. Thank you

The longer you wait the harder any clear will get. That clear is good for a few days to a week or so. Beyond that, it's gonna be hard to buff. Although, there is no too long, even after a month or more it can still be buffed, it will just take more time and work to do so.

SPI Universal Clear is UV cure and it can be cut and buffed months after it is sprayed. You then put it in the sun for a few days and it is cured. Great product for custom builders. Very easy to cut and buff.

You will likely need to cut and buff that PPG production clear the next day.

My paint rep told me on the Glasurit Clear I used, to sand it and let it set for a day or two, to let the solvents escape. Then buff, doing that, the gloss should not die back as much.

My buddy at the paint store said the d8188 from ppg is a show clear. Has anyone ever used it? Is it worth while to use ?He also said I can return the dc4010 to get a better show quality clear coat.

Spectacular clear. I have used it many times. You will have plenty of flow, will lay out like glass. And it will buff well for quite some time.

These are very true words that apply to any clear, also true that clear needs a few days to cure and out-gas to avoid that cloudy die back appearance.
