View Full Version : 69 Camaro - trouble with QA1 shocks mounting to Cal Trac shock mounts

Having an issue with the shocks to mount to the lower shock mounts. See below. The body of the shock is hitting the mount.

CPP drop leafs are being used. Which I don't think that's the issue.

That lower shock mount looks a bit different than the factory one. Could just be the picture. Is the mount part of the cal trac or is that the factory multi leaf plate? Either way I think you will need to use the factory shock mounting bolt. It has a built in spacer & bolts to the lower spring plate.

They are the lower shock plates for the cal trac bars

I don't have a good picture of it, but like mentioned above you need a shock stud with built-in spacer and also re-drill the mounts 1" higher and at a diagonal to the original. I have the original shock mounting hole indicated in the attached image. Also clear the dbl adjustable Viking shocks currently on the car.
