front/ rear tire difference?

I was just wandering what is recommended as far as width difference between front and rear tires? I am going w/ 295 rear and was curious what would be recommended for the front. I am wanting to stay w/ approximately a 26" tall tire. They will be on 18x10 rear and probably 18x8 front.

Depends on end usage... If it's a race car try to run similar sizes but a street car would look good with 255/40's up front and you won't see any detrimental handling or braking issues with that stagger. Anything bigger and you will be looking at a wider rim anyway so the 255 is about the limit.
