Hey everyone. I thought I would share my build with you guys.
My Personal Back Ground:
I am a 20 year old Mechanical Engineering Student. Once I graduate, I plan to become an Automotive Designer. I have always loved taking things apart, and putting them back together, better than before.
Now to the car. Hannah.
The car is a 1991 Z28 Camaro. I bought it as my first car, and have had the car for about 6 years now. It started life as a 190rwhp 305, with an automatic 700r4 transmission, untill I created a taunting vision. I wanted to build this car to be the ultimate street car. I wanted this car to be more agile, powerful, and economical than any respectable modern sports car, in EVERY performance aspect.
Read below on how I transformed this thirdgen into an absolute LS powered monster.

Here is how I accomplished this task. I will post my Completed work in stages for orginization.

Stage One: DriveTrain
LSX SWAP
I bought a LS1 with a T56 transmission. I rebuilt both completley with upgraded parts so that I knew what I had, and so that I can beat on it with no worries for many miles to come.
-Over View
-Rebuilt LS1, now with LS6 Heads, Huge Cam, New Valve Train, Longtube Headers. Roughly 470 HP to the wheels. Essentially an LS6 now.
-Rebuilt T56
-Rebuiilt Rear end with 4.10 Gears, Stronger Axles, Girdle.

Stage Two: Suspension
I wanted my car to handle like it's on rails. I wanted traction to always be there when I needed it, wether it was in a straight line, or pulling G Force in a turn. Therefore I needed the right suspension and tire/wheel combo.
I rebuilt the entire suspension. Then Installed a light weight tubular K member. Along with subframe connectors, custom lowering springs, new shocks/struts. I also installed a strengthened rear end with a tubular torque arm that attaches to the body of the car as opposed to the tail shaft.
Here are pictures of the K member install/suspension build.

Wheels/Tire
Again, traction is a top priority. I bought 19x10.5 deep dish Corvette wheels for all 4 corners. I am running a 305/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tire in the rear, and a 285/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tire in the front. That is alot of tire for a thirdgen Camaro. I will be test fitting a 305 in the front when the 285 tires wear. The car grips phenomally to the road in the turns.
Here is a test fit of the 19x10.5 because they said it couldn't be done.

Here it is installed, because it can be done.

Stage 3: Interior
I wanted a modern feel for my interior. I also wanted my car to be different. Therefore I got a dash board from a 2002 Trans Am. I then sent it to the upholster to have it wrapped in black leather, and red stitching. This improves the looks, and gets rid of the notorious chevy plasticy feel. The interior now has a more quality feel, similiar to newer highend cars. I grabbed a set of 4th gen camaro door panels to match the dash board. New leather seats and black carpet were installed too.
So out with the old. This picture was taken as I was wiring the car with the 4th gen camaro harness. Tons of hours went into this. This was before the wiring was completed. Interior went in after.

Dash installed after leather and stitching. At that point it still needed 6 speed console, dash pad, and door panels finished.

Nearing Completion
So after the LSX/T56, suspension, and finally interior I have created a car that I can drive. I have used the car as my daily driver for about 30,000 miles after the build. The car has been great. This upcoming year the car will see alot more autox and it will visit the road course at Road Atlanta frequently.
Here are some recent pictures.

Now that we are up to date, the build is still not finished.
Next.
I will be installing a TVS 2300 Supercharger. I will also be installing 14" Brembo CTSV Disc brakes up front, with some larger disc brakes in the rear. Coil over suspension will be installed in both front and rear. I will also be desigining a front splitter, front brake ducts, rear diffuser, and lots of other aero/visual pro touring style items.
