      Tire reomendation

Planning on running some optima events and have a question on tires.

      option 1. Bfg rival 255 /45/17
      option 2 fallken 615. 275/40/17

big question is will the smaller Bfg be as good or better than the wider falken tire

You need a bigger tire than the 275. You need at least a 315 with that setup. I prefer the BFG Rival "S" over the Falken. Are you able to get a 17" wheel on with the 14" rotors? I would look into a set of 18" wheels that way you have a choice of tires in the 315s

Thanks but don't think a 315 will fit. Not mini tubbed. That's why my option were above tire size

I'll check with my son-in-law. I don't think he tubbed his 66 Mustang to make the 315s fit. I think he just flared both front and rear.

He did mini-tub and added custom made flares. Also, he customized his front spindles and custom made the flares for the front. You might be able to fit a 295 without tubbing but, the 295s only come in the 18s.

Full tread? Did not know shaving was aloud? If so. How much difference does it make and how long do they last?
