      Front wheel finally mounted!!!

I finally mounted a front wheel and took some pics. Please excuse the mess on the car, my neighbor only had a few minutes to take the pics so I was unable to move everything. When I get the 2nd Gen AFX spindles I will take more pics with better details behind the wheels.

      Hope this link works:

Wow that is a good looking set of wheels, those SP16's ?? Nothing quite compares with the steam roller look of 345's out back.

Prostreet, they are SP16's. According to John (CCW) he only made a few sets of them and then changed the design to SP16A. He sent me a front set of SP16A's on accident, with 275/30's, which were way to short for my liking. I placed one next to my rear wheel and really noticed the difference between the 16's and the 16A's. Needless to say I felt that the older style fit my curvy car better, and since the wheels are just code on a machine he said it was no problem making more. Yeah the 345's are killer, and I have at least 1" clearance on both sides of the rear tires.

Dave, I may go a bit lower, but the reality is that I have 4" clearance from frame to ground and that should work out really well on road courses and moderate speed driving. I will be running header/sidepipes (like the Motion L-88 Camaro's) and those will make the side appear lower. I will also build some type of rear air deflector/ground effect setup. The front will have a black rubber/plastic piece bolted to the bottom of the air dam to reduce that gap.

Yeah it did take a while, the custom Del-a-lum's took longer than expected (will take pics as soon as I get my own digital camera). The turning radius is the same as my son's 88 T/A, so it should work okay. Guess I'll need some power to spin the rearend around...

The front 35's are a bit shorter than the rear 30's, and my plan is to go a bit wider in the front in the future (285/35's or 295/35's are just a bit shorter than the 345/30's, so they will also be fine).

Let me get the front spindles from Tito, then you can check it out (unless the wait is too long, then you can just come over whenever). If I had a Bird I could fit 11's, I swear!!!

Thanks Vince! You know, anytime now Gina will start pressuring you to slow down on the net and car stuff, you know, cuddle more... J/K, congrats on your wedding, you guys will have a blast together, plus she'll post faster track times than you so the family rivalry will be healthy for your kids (when are they coming?). Geez, now I sound like a mother-in-law!

I keep forgetting about that, you're right. I guess if I had a Bird I would have to channel the body down onto the frame a few inches to help. That sounds like too much work! If you're around during the week of 10/28-11/4 you could swing by and check it out. Only 1 wheel is one, I will wait until I have the AFX spindles to do anymore to the front. I need to tighten up a few things in the back anyway...

are those 335/35 rears? Not sure how much shorter you want them but a few viper guys I know have switched to 355 (yes really 355) 25/19 and they look freakin awesome. Come in just under 27" tall iirc.

345/30's, but the room I have will accomodate the 355/25's no problem. Next set may be 295/30's in front and 355/25's in the rear. But first to get those AFX spindles and giant brakes!!!
