      1966 GTO Covertible

I'm new to this site and can use some help. I've always wanted to build a car since I was a kid. My dad has always been into cars and had a 67 Gto. I'm not a mechanic, nor do I have the time with a 14month old and one in the oven.
I started on this project about a year ago and already have over 60k invested.???
      Here's what I have:
461 Stroker Engine built buy performce unlimited in NJ. It was dyno'ed at 511 HP and 465 lb ft torque
      March serpentine set up
      fuel injection
      Tremec TKO, 5 speed trans
Hotchkis stage 2 TVS sport suspension
Wilwood Superlite big brake kit, all 4 corners
      Vintage air surefit system
      Hydraboost brake set up.
      American Autowire full wiring kit

I received the car in pieces, powder coated the frame and had the body sent to a shop for metal work. It's being put back together.

I'm trying to figure out what size rims to get? I was thinking 19 x 9 rear and 18X8 front but not sure how large of a tire will fit the back. I have a 5 1/2" back spacing & 3 1/2" from mount
surface to inside fender well. I am thinking of shortening the axle, to get a deeper dish wheel? I'm open to suggestions and expertise as wheel fitment is important. Pictures below.

      Thanks,

right now I have a 66 conv with BMW ssr wheels on it. the rear end is stock width 9" with 11" wide wheel with 6 3/8 backspacing with a 1/4 spacer. The tire barely clears on the back but has a 1/2 " to 3/4 " clearance on the outside . wheel is a 11x19 with a 275/30ZR 19. The wheel well lip has not been rolled.
The front is a a 9 1/2 wide with a 5 1/2 backspacing. It is actually about 1/2 " too wide as it hits the outside lip of the inner fender well. I hammered the top lip up and so far so good. Wheel is a 19x9 1/2 and the tire is 245/35 ZR 19. The front has Heidt 2" lowering long spindles and adjustable control arms that extend out so I have 3 degrees caster and 1/4 in camber and 1/32 toein. Also the car is equipped with Hostkist lowering springs. The front frame crossover sets so low that there is aprox 4" between it and the ground.

I also forgot to tell you that I have Wilwood brakes 12.88 rotors with 6 piston front and 4 piston back. How long was your driveshaft with the TKO? How made it and what did it cost? I am pushing 525 hp and have a TKO600. I am in the process of putting in the trans and also a holly TPI with a Weiand tunnel ram with 2 4bbl throttle bodies.

      pics are NOT showing.

You are headed for a borderline undriveable car. You need more sidewall and more ground clearance, or it's going to suck as a cruiser
