Hello folks I've been searching for a while and having trouble finding a definite answer. I'm in the process of upgrading my factory front disc brakes on my 1971 Monte Carlo to some F-Body front disc brakes from a 2000 Camaro. I see a lot of drum to disc but not disc to disc swaps.

What's the difference between a factory drum spindle and a factory disc spindle?

I have front drum hubs that I need to have turned down I need to know do I have to get drum spindles or can I use my factory disc ones.

Thanks

Disc spindle needs a spacer for the top bolt on the LS1 bracket to line up straight with the bottom bolt hole. Drum hubs fit fine on the disc spindle, just have to turn them down the for new rotor to fit over.

Typhoon1015 you're right. I test fitted the drum hubs and they fit perfectly.

Hold on, so are you saying I can use the stock brakes off a 2000 SS Camaro on my 69 Chevelle factory drum spindle with no adapter bracket?

No. You still need a bracket, I wasn't sure about the spindle.
