Hey there, I did a search and I know that everyone does the wheel stud swap but why is it done?

I have a 70 Chevelle that had 4 wheel drums and is now LS1 4 wheel discs the studs seem to be long enough with my Budnik Billet rims so i dont think i need new studs....

any thoughts?

There's a slight added width going from drums to slip on rotors. I have stock length studs on the rear of my 86 Monte and ls1 rear disc and theres still enough stud for my comfort

It all depends if there is enough threads once the hub/rotor/wheel is mounted. I choose to replace for the sake of replacing with new and went 1/4 inch longer to ensure proper thread engagement when torqued. If you have less threads, you will have more load per thread which could cause premature wear/failure of the thread.

I would buy the long studs from Lingenfelter. They're not that expensive and you can't go wrong with the long studs.
