Troubleshooting ideas needed: AutoMeter Speedo/TR6060/Lacking signal

I have a '68 Camaro/LS3/TR6060/Autometer electronic gauges. Signal routed with purple and yellow wire out of trans to Computer. Single wire from computer to signal input on gauge. During calibration the gauge behaves as it should with the sweep going to half at start then full but I get nothing from the odometer showing pulses. I believe the gauge is connected correctly but that I'm lacking a signal from the trans. I've swapped, with no success, the yellow and purple wires as advised by the techs at Autometer.

Is there any way to electrically measure the signals from the trans or out of the computer to work backwards to find out where the signal is missing?

      TIA

Can you connect something like a Scangauge II to the OBD port? I think it will report the speedo reading if I remember right. That will tell you if a signal is getting to the computer/ECM.

The best way to physically measure the signal is to use an oscilloscope. The pulses will be too fast to see on a multi-meter but with an oscilloscope you can adjust the time display and see those types of signals.
