Perhaps people already know about this, but it was news to me. Tremec has a free iPhone app that's really useful. Mainly, you can use it to measure your driveline angles by holding your iPhone at 3 different places on your driveline: 1# engine/transmission; 2) driveshaft; and 3) rear end (see pic below). It measures each angle and gives you a pass/fail for your setup. I was happy to receive a passing grade for my setup. But, I was a little confused by this statement, "angles that are ‘equal and opposite’ are most desirable." My engine/transmission angle was 1.1 degrees and my rear end angle was .9 degrees. I have a TCI torque arm rear suspension, and thus, my rear end angle is adjustable. So does that mean I should adjust the rear end angle to 1.1 degrees as well?

Here's a link with info on how to use the app: http://www.tremec.com/menu.php?m=154

The app can also be used to calculate vehicle speed for a particular rpm; or it can calculate engine rpm for a particular cruising speed. You have to enter transmission gear ratios, rear end ratio and tire height (it has a tire height calculator too).

heard of it , but haven't got around to trying it with my android phone yet.

Here's a pretty clear cut demonstration of driveshaft angle effects on travel that I wish I'd seen years ago. I have a faint up & down osculating vibration at some highways speeds, which sounds like bad angles.

That's what I needed to see. Great info, Thanks!

Also keep in mind that the pinion angle will change some under power.
