Like the title states, I'm trying to figure out what headers will clear with my setup. Specifically the TruTurn. I have a 69 Camaro with an LS1 swap, T56, TruTurn, and an Iroc steering box.

So far Stainless works seems like it is the best option since I have read they clear the TruTurn setup and tuck up close to the floorboard. The one issue that I have is that they are 1-3/4" primaries when I would like to go with 1-7/8". The only other options I know of that offer 1-7/8" primaries are Hooker and Kooks. From what I read, Hooker's might hit the TruTurn bracket and I can't find anyone that has confirmed the Kooks will clear. So if anyone has experience, that would be great. It would also be nice to see how low they hang since I have a set of Dynatech headers right now that need to be swapped out since they hang down too low.

I also just found this option from Texas Speed... Has anyone used these?

Curious, what power levels your engine is putting out to choose 1 7/8 over 1 3/4? I have 450 RWHP and the 1 3/4 SSW headers work fine.

Well I had 400whp on stock heads. Just put Texas speed stage 2.5 heads on. So not sure. Hoping for 425hp at the wheels. But who knows if that will happen.

I would also like to go 1-7/8" because that gives me more room to grow in the future if I add more power. I would hate to save $100-$200 now and regret it later.

Mike; which hooker headers did you use? I've heard that they are the worst with truturn. Maybe that is only the super competition.

Google "LSadapter plates, be careful". This will explain why your Dynatechs "hang low"

Hmmm no kidding! Wish I would have known that before my headers were flat... Good find! I laughed when I saw the before picture of the Dynatech's hanging so low. That's exactly what mine looked like.

I used all the Holley/Hooker LS swap parts motor mounts headers and cross member. Excelent ground clearance with the headers also
