I'm buying and LS3 that's coming with the ECU and all accessories ect... I was wondering if the computer can be flashed to be run w/o the DBW and use a cable throttle body.
Thanks

LS3 is 58x reluctor crankshaft motor. You would need to convert it to 24x to run DBC and run LS1 style PCM. Lingenfelter makes a converter box for such a conversion.

As was said, it isn't easy, and more importantly, why would you want to? The DBW set-up works awesome.

Thanks for the info. Will a stand alone harness and ECU from an LS2 be plug and play with an LS3?

Around 05-06 I think there were 24 and 58x reluctor LS2s in Vettes/GTOs. So maybe.
If your goal is to find a 58x ecu with IAC driver to use cable TB, that will be a very rare animal.

^^^^ This.... Are you just assuming better throttle response with DBC? If you have the harness and PCM, you're 80% there. Just get the pedal, have your harness rewired and PCM programmed.

I'm happy with the drive by wire in my Sierra. I actually have a DBW setup to swap into the Chevelle. DBW gives a cleaner engine bay, less holes in the firewall, and allows you to run cruise control very easily. It's a win win win!

David, are you running cruise on your current setup?

Not with the cable setup. I'll add a cruise control switch when I install the DBW computer/throttle body.
