Hello all,

The purpose of this thread is to get you all aware of Recaro brand products, along with pricing from Schwartz Performance. We're an authorized dealer for Recaro.


First off, Recaro recently wiped a lot of dealers from their authorized list, and changed around many of their requirements. It is now very difficult for an online store and even many shops to be an authorized dealer. A couple months ago, there was a company that always popped up on google when searching for Recaro seats. Now that same company is on Recaro’s Do Not Sell List. Yep, there’s a list of companies that we cannot sell to.
The main reason for this change is to have actual knowledgeable people selling the products with the correct parts and correct technical assistance, to help keep liabilities down and save everyone's butt if there is to be a problem.

Now onto the good stuff!

Recaro separates their seats into three categories: Tuning, Ergonomics, and Racing. Tuning seats include models such as the Sportster CS, which are sporty looking.. Ergonomic seats include the popular Specialist M and are comfortable, and Racing seats like the Profi XL.

All of these seats have several different materials to choose from.
Avus, Nardo, Artista, Jersey, Dinamica, Suede, Velour, Vinyl, AM Vinyl, and of course Leather, are all the materials that Recaro offers.


We know you're confused about all these choices, so here's the breakdown:


Avus: Ultra high quality cloth fabric, very comfortable and durable, softest material available.

Artista: High quality cloth fabric, geometric pattern, very comfortable and durable, medium soft. Harder than Avus, more along the lines of denim. Shown as the insert of the Sportster CS below.

Nardo: Ultra high quality fabric, very comfortable and durable, medium soft. Harder than Avus, more along the lines of denim.

Dinamica: High quality synthetic suede-like material.


Vinyl: High grade, thick, ultimate durability, not recommended for hot climates.

AM Vinyl: Looks more like leather than vinyl. (Simulated leather)


Leather: Beautiful top-grade cow hides, supple & strong.

Velour: Very soft & smooth, "knit" like.

Jersey: Top quality pinpoint mesh fabric, medium soft, like sports clothing fabric, i.e. "Black & Silver Grey Jersey" is a silver grey jersey fabric with a black mesh jersey fabric bonded on top.

As mentioned in the above post, there are three different seat categories.

We'll touch on the Tuning seats here.


One of the most popular is the Sportster CS.

Now I'm not entirely sure why this is, but regular Recaro Sportster CS's are special order only (10-12 weeks). Sportster CS with HEAT are a stocking item though. Of course you don't need the heat if you're not driving in the cold months (if you have any), but the CS w/heat also has more material combinations.

This Sportster CS (w/heat) seat is available in the following combinations:

The Cross Sportster CS is the same as the Sportster, but has lower side bolsters for easier access, or for wider people. Prices are the same as above, also have heat, and the side bolsters look like this:

Next is the Speed. These have an integrated headrest, openings for harnesses, dual back release, and dual side recline levers (left/right are the same). The Speed is NOT available in leather due to the angles of the foam; the leather does not lay nicely.

For you guys who want more safety, this seat is also available with a crotch belt opening but is a different part number.

***The Speed also has an "S" model which has lower side bolsters, but still offer plenty of support;
***And lastly they have the Speed M (New for 2016) which has very low side bolsters like the other Recaro seats with the M suffix.
The Speed S and M are NOT available with the crotch belt opening.

Here are the features of the Sport & Topline models:

Last is the Style XL & XL Topline. These have maximum adjustability to suit your body type, and have more of an ergonomic appearance to them, making them perfect for a cruiser. They do not have access for harnesses.

I'm looking for a nice street friendly seat that will allow the use of 5 point belts properly as well.

Last on the list is the ever so popular (because it's awesome) Recaro Specialist (S & M).

The Specialist has an S and an M submodel. The Specialist S has more support at the seat cushion, whereas the M has a wider cushion and manual thigh extension- better suited for larger drivers.

67 Camaro here, want to do the Pole Position Recaro seats, saw on your site there is a model specific sliding bracket, if I put the fixed side bracket that comes on these seats on top, will it make my seats sit too high? I am a tall guy and don't want my helmet to hit the headliner.

Hey Tom,

So the Pole Position seats are not recommended for tall people (say over 5ft 8). You'll be happier with a Profi XL (please give me your height & waist size). All Recaro race seats are not DOT approved FYI.. And the floor brackets and such will definitely raise the height.. So I'd recommend doing a custom install but use the Recaro side mounts.

Hey all,

Recaro increased their price on several of the more popular seats for 2016, from $30-$100 per seat. I updated the pricing on this page.

Additionally, their shipping structure has changed so I may not be able to offer free shipping depending on your location.

If we or Recaro do not have seats in stock, USA-made seats are 4-6 weeks lead time typically. Germany-made seats are 12-16 weeks. So try planning your purchase earlier on in the build if you really like/want Recaro seats! Yes I said PLAN.... most of us are men... who does that???

We have a good local upholsterer that does all of our custom interiors, so the answer is yes. Recaro doesn't do that service if that's what you were asking.
There are many other auto upholstery shops that can do what you're asking for too.
